Do you have your office chair at the correct working height to suit yourself, not others?
Is your computer screen away from overhead lighting to avoid glare and eye strain?
Do you move away from your desk at regular intervals?
Are you working in a clutter free environment, one where you can reach your keyboard easily and comfortably?
Is your floor space free of electrical cords to avoid tripping? Are cords bound together where required?

Naidoc Week 1-7th October

NAIDOC WEEK celebrations are held across Australia each October to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. This is a great opportunity to participate in a great range of activities and to support your local community.

Our Helpful Staff


We always have staff on hand who enjoy advising you on bookclub choices. There are multiple copies of suitable books not to mention a helpful "Good Read Guide" display set up near the circulation counter. We also house a large range of current magazines and journals, these are available for loan from the circulation counter.

Research Workshops

Learn how to find up-to-date journal articles, newspapers, encyclopedias and e-books via the Library's website. Our highly trained staff will have you in cyber space in no time by learning some expert tips and tricks. Basic computer skills required.

The NEW Childrens Discovery Centre

Things have been changing at the Avon Valley Garden Library. Follow the footsteps from the entrance area to the new and exciting Childrens Discovery Centre. Come and explore the nature trail in the family reading area, see our oldest and newest childrens books, check out our tree house, dress up, or simply do an activity. Be entertained on Saturday mornings during spring by "Bill and Ben, the Flower Pot Men" puppet show, back by popular demand.

This new centre really is one of a kind, with fantastic resources and programs to encourage reading and learning with the younger generation.

Spring in the Garden Lunchtime Concerts
